Air Conditioning Condensate Drain Repair

Air Conditioning Condensate Drain Repair

Original call was for a basement sewage ejector pump that wasn't working and overflowing.

After a little detective work we realized it wasn't the sewage ejector pump at all.

The house was an older home. After we cut drywall we exposed the problem. We discovered the AC Condensate drain had been placed inside the plumbing drain and then taped together rather than use a proper fitting. Well when the AC Condensate drain backed up the tape holding it together wasn't watertight and leaked all over the finished basement floor.

We made it right be using the proper fittings and put in access panel for future access for maintenance. We even put the homeowner in contact with a reputable AC Company to install a float switch on the condensate drain. This will turn off the power to the AC unit if it detects an overflow or blockage in the drain line eliminating the chance of this happening again.

Budget: $295
