Quality Installation of Water Main Shutoff Valve and Water Pressure Regulator in Meadowbrook, Alabama

quality-install

Received a call from a potential customer today just wanting a diagnosis and quote for low water pressure and erratic noise with their plumbing system. We arrived promptly to the home located in the Meadowbrook area of Birmingham, Alabama. After a brief diagnosis and educating the homeowner they felt at ease.

The root cause of the problem was a failed water pressure regulator. Common signs of a failed water pressure regulator are low water pressure, high water pressure, or erratic noise or banging when running water. Typically a water pressure regulator will last 5 years or longer depending on water conditions. If left unchecked plumbing seals, gaskets, and washers will start to fail prematurely and eventually a pipe will burst.

Not only did we replace the water pressure regulator we installed a new water main shutoff for the homeowner. The existing shutoff was a multi-turn outdated gate valve. These will typically break or start to leak after being turned off. Using state of the art equipment we were able to install a new quarter turn ball valve. This will give the homeowner years of trouble free service should they need to turn of the domestic water to their home.

Pro Tips: Turn off your main water supply when going on vacation.
